Scientific Advisory Board

The Jamieson Wellness Scientific Advisory Board has a mandate focused on innovation. Board members are experts or researchers in fields of science correlated to key product areas including herbals, omega nutrition, sports nutrition, joint health and gastrointestinal products. The Jamieson Wellness Scientific Advisory Board works with the Company’s innovation team to generate proprietary ideas and provide insights on emerging products and areas for R&D, based on the latest scientific developments. Each board member’s knowledge and awareness of emerging technologies within each of their respective fields provides insights that will help shape our future product developments.

Dr. Louis J. Aronne
MD, FACP

Dr. Aronne is the Sanford I. Weill Professor of Metabolic Research at Weill Cornell Medical College where he directs the Comprehensive Weight Control Center, a state of the art, multidisciplinary obesity research and treatment program. He has been on the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine since 1986.

Dr. Aronne is also CEO and a director of BMIQ, a cloud based weight management system that is delivered by health care providers and an independent director of Myos Rens Corporation. Dr. Aronne is current Chairman of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and former president of the Obesity Society. Since 2001 he has been ranked in Castle Connelly’s Top Doctors in NY directory as a specialist in obesity and internal medicine.Dr. Aronne graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and with a Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a Kaiser Foundation Fellowship at Weill Cornell.

Dr. Ralf Jäger
PhD, FISSN, CISSN, MBA

Dr. Jäger is a globally recognized expert in functional foods and dietary supplements, with extensive experience in ingredient development, clinical research, and product innovation. His work focuses on sports nutrition, gut health, probiotics, and cognitive performance.

He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and holds more than 50 patents, contributing significantly to the scientific and commercial advancement of nutritional ingredients. Dr. Jäger has designed and led numerous clinical trials evaluating the efficacy and safety of dietary supplements. He is also an award-winning speaker and frequent contributor to mainstream media.

Dr. Jäger earned his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Bonn, Germany, and completed postdoctoral research in bio-organic chemistry at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He also holds an MBA from the University of Würzburg, and is a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) and Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (FISSN).

Dr. Ragupathy (Ragu) Subramanyam, Ph.D., is a scientist, entrepreneur, and research leader specializing in molecular diagnostics, metabolomics, biodiversity genomics, and DNA-based authentication of botanicals. He is the Managing Director and Partner of QAID Institute Inc. (Quality Assurance ID) in Guelph, Ontario, where he leads the development and commercialization of advanced DNA microarray technologies for the authentication of botanicals, microbes, food ingredients, and spoilage organisms.

Dr. Subramanyam brings deep expertise at the intersection of science, regulation, and industry, with a strong track record of translating genomic innovations into practical solutions for the natural health products, food, and nutrition sectors. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a scientific advisor to companies in the botanical supplements and nutraceutical industries.

He previously served as Co-Director of the Natural Health Products (NHP) Research Alliance at the University of Guelph and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the same institution. In addition to his applied and commercial contributions, Dr. Subramanyam has described six new plant species and revised the taxonomy of more than 20 species, reflecting his foundational expertise in plant systematics.
His international research and teaching experience spans Canada, India, Malaysia, and Australia.
